SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

A long-time family owned business will give a big boost to a Woodbury County project, one that has been in the works since 2005.

Thursday Roger and Jane Bomgaars announced they will donate $500,000 to the Woodbury County Ag and Expo Center, which will be called the "Bomgaars Ag and Expo Center".

The $6.2 million center will be the new home to many different livestock, equestrian and other events.

"The city of Moville really feels this is going to be a great economic boost for the city of Moville and the surrounding areas," said James Fisher, Mayor of Moville.

Jane and Roger Bomgaars, owners of 60 stores in over six states, say since their business is agriculturally related their donation of $500,000 dollars to this project is a good fit for them.

"Reinvest in the community and impact a couple of different areas and focus on in our giving. One of those is the youth aspect, where our future customers come from and our future good citizens of this community," said Roger Bomgaars, Donor.

"We are hoping to bring some activities to this part of the state that are usually elsewhere in other states and bring some new activities and it does not only provide opportunities for the youth, it provides a lot of opportunities for all ages," Jane Bomgaars, Donor.

Officials say the Bomgaars Ag and Expo Center on the Woodbury County Fair Grounds will host 55 to 60 events and year.

"This place is going to be a destination for thousands of people, this building is going to have 400 stalls, it's going to be a great place for livestock shows, judging clinics, farm shows. There are an unlimited amount of possibilities that could be done in this building," said Doug Hodgins, Kay Dee Feed.

City officials in Moville say this is just the boost their town needs.

"What you need, when you need it, has been Bomgaars slogan for years and the city of Moville needed Bomgaars," said James Fisher, Mayor of Moville.

Officials say they hope to have the Bomgaars Ag and Expo Center built in the next year.
