Varina, IA woman arrested for farm supply store thefts
A Varina, Iowa woman was arrested after officials allege she created false documents to generate payments from a Newell farm supply store. 34-year-old Jodi Vandenbosch was charged with 1st Degree Fraudulent Practice and On-going Criminal Conduct after the conclusion of a several month long investigation into Don's Farm Supply.
Officials with the Buena Vista County Sheriff's Office say that in November, Don's Farm Supply reported a theft of funds. A routine audit of grain deliveries and sales revealed that on several occasions, purchases of grain appeared to come from a suspicious seller. Officials say they discovered that checks were being written for the deliveries that hadn't occurred. The fraudulent deliveries of grain equaled in excess of several thousand dollars.
Vandenbosch has appeared in court and was released on bond.
