YANKTON, S.D. (KTIV) -
There's a push to bring more ethanol blender pumps to South Dakota and retailers can learn about financial incentives being offered at a series of meetings around the state this week, including one in Yankton.
Blender pumps allow motorists with flex fuel vehicles to choose different percentage blends of ethanol in gasoline.
Last month, Governor Dennis Daugaard announced the Governor's Office of Economic Development is making nearly $1 million in grants available to help pay for the installation of ethanol blender pumps at South Dakota gas stations.
A station can receive up to $25,000 for installation of its first blender pump and up $10,000 for each additional new pump.
The GOED is accepting grant applications starting Monday.
Officials will explain how the grants work and who's eligible at a meeting Thursday in Yankton. It's set for 1:00 p.m. at the old Human Services Center Campus.
