EARLY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Make Highway 20 in northern Iowa four-lanes from Dubuque to Sioux City. That's been the US 20 Corridor Association's dream for decades. Right now, they've got about 230 miles of their about 310 mile project complete.
The gap of two-lanes remaining is between Moville and Rockwell City. Money has been planned by the Iowa DOT to transform most of that distance, except for about 35 miles between Early and Correctionville.
To persuade Iowa lawmakers for continued funding for projects like US 20, the association will make a trip Des Moines on January 24th.
"We have been going to Des Moines, to the capital to lobby for additional money for transportation for the past few years," said President of the Highway 20 Association Shirley Phillips.
