Philanthropy Council of Northeast Nebraska holding contest

A Norfolk organization is hoping to catch the creative and giving spirit of area youth.  As part of a new contest The Philanthropy Council of Northeast Nebraska is holding a Youth Philanthropy Contest and the deadline to enter is coming up next week.  The Philanthropy Council was created in 2011 to recognize the philanthropic efforts of area residents and to cultivate that sense of giving through other residents and their youth.  The Youth Philanthropy contest is open to ages Kindergarten through 25 and challenges them to answer how they can make a difference in their community.  Applicants can submit to the council their best ideas for changing the world in their own backyards.  This includes individual youth and groups.  The deadline to enter ideas is Feb. 1st and winners in eight age groups will be announced.  Each winning idea will be awarded $1,000 next month to help implement their projects.  For more information log on to
