Hubbard man sentenced to 51 years in vehicular homicide trial

PONCA, Neb. (KTIV) -

A Hubbard, Nebraska man has been sentenced to 51 years in prison after he plead guilty to two counts of vehicular homicide in a crash that killed two Wayne State students in September.

55-year-old Robert Mahler was driving on the wrong side of highway 35 near Emerson when he struck a motorcycle head-on, killing 20-year-old Christopher Oberg of Mapleton, Iowa and 19-year-old Alexis Calfee of Bennet, Nebraska.
