Court date set for man accused of causing woman's miscarriage

STORM LAKE, Iowa (KTIV) -

An arraignment date has been set for a Storm Lake Iowa man accused of causing his girlfriend to have a miscarriage.

Yoirlan Tome-Rojas, 31, faces three charges, conspiracy to commit non-consensual termination, assault while participating in a felony and assault.

Police say on two different occasions, Rojas gave the woman a medication that terminated her pregnancy.

According to police, the victim was unaware Rojas gave her anything, but got suspicious about her miscarriage when she discovered e-mails with someone in Florida concerning the medication used.
