SPIRIT LAKE, Iowa (KTIV/KUOO) -
A second attempt at passing a bond issue for a new
city hall will likely go before voters in Spirit Lake in conjunction with this
coming November's General Election. The city council earlier this week agreed
that would be a good time to float another proposal, after the first one was
overwhelmingly rejected this past November.
The council Tuesday directed city staff to put
together figures on a scaled back proposal, for a facility that could be easily
added onto in the future as the city grows. Those cost estimates will be
presented to the council at an upcoming meeting.
Plans call for committees to be re-established to
educate the public.
