OKOBOJI, Iowa (KTIV) -- -

Some charities also benefited from the Winter Games.

The Lakes Area Hockey Association held their first annual boot hockey tournament.

Named "Guns and Hoses" it put firefighters against officers on the frozen lake.

Kids got to show off their skills in a shootout too.

Part of the money raised Saturday will help a charity that used a lot of their resources during the summer floods.

"There was a local portion to this, since we're living in Northwest Iowa could help participate in. That's was with the Red Cross and with the Missouri River flooding. We thought that kind of held close to us and so we thought 'let's do it and join up with them'," said Mitch Brandt, President Lakes Area Hockey Association.

Early estimates from the organizers say they raised a few hundred dollars for the Red Cross.
