OKOBOJI, Iowa (KTIV) -- -
The Winter Games wrapped up in Okoboji, Iowa Sunday afternoon.
And even though it was too warm to hold many of the activities out on the ice plenty of people still gathered for the games.
For a destination known for its weekend getaways during the summer, the Winter Games are a big draw giving businesses a winter boost.
Some say the games are as big as a major summer holiday for the local economy.
"We're excited because this is as big to us as the Fourth of July. I can't say enough about what our business has been like this weekend. I know everyone in town looks forward to this," said Don Rose, The Gardens manager.
Organizers expected over 35,000 people to slide into town for the three-day event.
