SAC CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Fire heavily damaged a house in Sac City, Iowa. Firefighters were called to 225 South 9th Street about 2:45 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
It's the home of Renita Batz. Sac City Fire Chief Dale Duncan said there was extensive flame damage on the first floor of the two story home.
However, the home received heat and smoke damage throughout.
While the cause is still under investigation, authorities believe the fire started in the living room.
No one was home at the time.
The fire chief said Batz' father stopped by the house to do some work and spotted the flames.
