Crash injures two people in Dickinson County, IA

NEAR SPIRIT LAKE, Iowa (KTIV) -

A two-vehicle crash, in Dickinson County, Iowa, has injured two people.

It happened Friday night, on Highway 9 between Spirit Lake and Lake Park.

Sheriff's deputies say Glenda Reinke, of Spirit Lake, was driving east... and fell asleep at the wheel. Her car drifted into the westbound lane. Patrick Parrott, of Spirit Lake, saw Reinke's car cross the center line and swerved to avoid a collision. At that moment, investigators say Reinke woke up and tried to veer back into her lane. The two cars collided.

Both drivers were rushed to a Spirit Lake hospital. Reinke's injuries were described as non-incapacitating. Parrott was more-seriously hurt... suffering incapacitating injuries.
