BOYDEN, Iowa (KTIV) -
The Sioux County Sheriff's office is investigating a possible Super Bowl scam.
Authorities say they've received multiple complaints involving a Boyden, Iowa resident. They say the person offered to get the parties Super Bowl tickets at a discounted rate., but as of Friday, none of the complaintents had received their tickets.
Several complaints have come from people in and outside the state. Victims should contact investigator Stephen Switzer at (888) 777-4590.
An Ankeny, Iowa man, who claims he's the victim of this "possible scam", says he received a letter from an Attorney in Orange City, Iowa on behalf of Ranae Van Roekel of Boyden informing him that he would not get the tickets he paid for. The letter, from attorney Jared Weber, states Ms. Van Roekel is willing to reimburse the costs, and that they are trying to find a resolution.
