I began my journalism career at age eight when my parents bought me my first video camera. Countless hours interviewing the neighborhood kids and pets prepared me for the interviews I now conduct as a reporter for News 4. Journalism school at the University of Iowa opened my eyes to the true nature of television journalism. It is a career I have literally spent my entire life preparing for.
Following an internship at KCRG in Cedar Rapids, KTIV gave me my first opportunity to work as a full time reporter. I have enjoyed every minute getting to know the Sioux City community, and working with the staff and professionals at News 4. Having grown up in Okoboji and graduated from the Spirit Lake school system, Northwest Iowa has always been home to me. I love this part of the state and am so grateful to be able to work, live and play here.
I am proud of being elected as Boys State Governor my junior year of high school, and being awarded an Iowa Broadcast News Award for spot journalism (college division) while at the University of Iowa. Outside of work, I love to fish, take pictures, play video games, and hangout with friends.
In another life I would be the New York Times food critic. There's still hope.
