CHARLOTTETOWN, Canada (CNN) -
Two of Canada's favorite pastimes --beer and hockey -- are on display together.
Yes, you are in an art gallery. Even though the bar in the corner and the TV's blaring sports, might be a little confusing at first.
We hope they'll be a little bit confused. In a way. because the point is to have a little bit of mystery as to what's what. There will be menus on the table that will clarify which things you see on the walls are artwork and which things aren't.
Ok so this one's obvious: A real Andy Warhol print of Wayne Gretzky. That's art, but the twelve-pack made of stone and the tiny carved liquor bottles ya those are art and the barstool that looks like someone threw it in a fit of rage against don cherry also art. It's all in honor of Scotiabank hockey day in Canada.
There's a lot of work that addresses the idea of Canadian identity through hockey. And then we're also interested in the idea of that relationship through beer too, I am Canadian type of stereotype around- you know "This is what we do as Canadians", drink beer and watch hockey!
Reporter: So you're playing in to that stereotype with this exhibit?
We're playing in to it but we're also critiquing it.
So this thingy here- this is some kind of table hockey game, right? Not really. It's art created to make this animated two-minute short of Daryl sitter's 1976 record-setting 10-point game. So what kind of folks are the creators aimed to attract here - arty types or sporty types.
I would like both to come in and meet because I think there is a lot to be talked about in regards to hockey and art and I find that there's a lot of similarities about just the terms we use and how we are so passionate about the things we love.
