A first of its kind fundraising event in Norfolk, Nebraska is being held Wednesday. This is the first time the community has held a "Puttin' On The Pink" event to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research.
"Puttin' On The Pink" is a three-hour event to benefit the Susan G. Komen For The Cure Foundation. It begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Times Square Events Center.
The co-ed, mingling cocktail party will include a number of fun fundraising features, such as wine tasting, a silent auction, Hors D'oeuvres, and an iPad raffle. Event organizers say 75 percent of the funds raised will help the Nebraska chapter of Susan G. Komen for the Cure while the remaining 25 percent will go to the national chapter.
Susan G. Komen for the Cure is the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer. Tickets for Puttin' On the Pink are $25 and can be purchased at the door. If you're coming tonight, be sure to wear your pink!
