Your heart's health means everything to your well-being.
The Marina Inn in South Sioux City, Neb., hosted the 17th Annual Heart Gala to raise money for the American Heart Association.
Its ballroom was set up with a casino theme to remind folks not to gamble with their hearts. One couple, with two children who were born with heart defects was honored.
"We're going to have a special appeal asking for everyone to open their heart for cardiovascular disease and stroke. Especially after listening to these beautiful children and their parents talk about their heart issues," said Linda Wadedo Jochims, director of the American Heart & Stroke Association.
The night also featured a dinner and silent auction. KTIV's Kristie VerMulm emceed the evening's festivities.
