DES MOINES, Iowa (KTIV) -
The first U.S.-China Agriculture Symposium will be held in Des Moines Thursday as part of the visit to Iowa by China's Vice President Xi Jinping. U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will host Xi and China's Minister of Agriculture. The all-day symposium will focus on food safety, food security and sustainable agriculture.
China purchased $20 billion in U.S. agriculture exports last year making it the top buyer of U.S. farm goods.
