That standoff also forced local schools in to "lock down".
School was back in normal session, Friday.
But, on Thursday, nervous parents waited hours after the last bell rang to pick up their kids.
Many say while the lock down was stressful while it lasted, it was the right call.
"I'd much rather be safe than sorry honesty. I felt they handled it. The kids got homework done, and they were able to come home and relax. I think it was handled very well," said Wendy Krutz, mother of four Stanton students.
Parents say school officials were able to make special arrangements during the lock down if their children needed any type of medications or other special needs delivered.
The Stanton School district has about 450 students.
