Iowa has added two assistants to its staff.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz has named his son, Brian Ferentz, and LeVar Woods as assistant coaches. Both are former Hawkeyes.
Fertenz will serve as an offensive line coach. Ferentz played at Iowa from 2002 to 2005, as both an offensive guard and center. He was a part of the 2002 and 2004 Big Ten Championship teams.
Ferentz spent the past four seasons with the Patriots, serving as tight ends coach this past year during New England's Super Bowl run.
Woods has been named Iowa's linebacker coach. Woods was a letter-winning linebacker from 1998 to 2000 before playing seven seasons in the NFL as a member of the Tennessee Titans, Arizona Cardinals, Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions.
Woods served as an administrative assistant before being promoted to defensive line coach for the 2011 Insight Bowl.
