SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
The pit bull that was hauled off to the pound after attacking two people in a Sioux City home Friday has some company. Meanwhile, one of the victims is released from the hospital.
Police say two other dogs, a husky and a lap dog, were taken from the home on Friday, along with a pit bull.
Animal Control says the pit bull, named Lucky Boy, was voluntarily handed over by its owner, 19-year old Victor Manuel Mejia, to be euthanized.
There's no word on why the other dogs were taken or how long they'll be at animal control.
Police say on Friday, Lucky Boy was put in the basement at 1726 Nicollet Street, where 24-year old Jasmine Feller lived, while furniture was being moved upstairs.
They say when she opened the door, the dog attacked, biting her multiple times in the face. Her condition is not being released.
Nineteen-year-old Kyle Wacker of Sergeant Bluff, intervened and was bit in the arm.
He is no longer listed as a patient at the hospital.
Mejia's brother says he was visiting Feller from Arizona.
Under Sioux City ordinance only pit bulls grand fathered in before the 2008 ban are allowed to live within city limits.
Police say animal control may press charges.
