NORFOLK, Neb. (KTIV/US92) -

The Nebraska Legislature is off Monday for Presidents day, however lawmakers are preparing to welcome residents of Madison County and neighboring Woodland Park to Lincoln this week.

This is an annual event, and everyone really looks forward to it, including the lawmakers.

Officials with the Norfolk Area Chamber and their Legislative Council say they have a day full of events planned for those who wish to meet with lawmakers and hear about issues important to this area. A bus will pull out of Norfolk around 8am Wednesday…and it's first stop will be the State Capitol to observe the Legislature from the balcony.

Following a lunch with State Senators and Agency Directors, residents will head back to the 2nd floor of the Capitol for a program featuring speakers such as Senator Mike Flood of Norfolk and Governor Dave Heineman.

After spending about an hour visiting the offices of our area Senators, the group will head back to Norfolk.

If anyone is interested in attending, you're asked to RSVP with the Norfolk Area Chamber of Commerce.
