KINGSLEY, Iowa (KTIV) -

A 14-year-old Kinglsey, Iowa boy, who's charged with his stepbrother's fatal shooting has admitted to the crime. Court documents, filed in Plymouth County court, say the teen, who is charged as a juvenile, agreed to plead guilty to a charge of involuntary manslaughter.

In exchange, prosecutors dropped a charge of willful injury. The teen is accused in the December death of 17-year-old Kyle Badgerow. Badgerow, who was a senior at Kingsley-Pierson High School, died after he was hit in the chest by a bullet fired from a semi-automatic handgun.

The teen will be back in court March 16th for a disposition hearing, which is like a sentencing.
