SPENCER, Iowa (KTIV) -

Farmers from all over Siouxland spent their day in Spencer, Iowa, for the 28th Annual Ag Outlook Conference and Trade Show.

Farmers know it's been an unusual winter, and many used Tuesday as a chance to compare notes about plans for spring planting.

Held at the Clay County Regional Events Center, the conference featured three speakers who touched on topics like economics, land evaluations and changes to anti-ag regulations for 2012.

"I think just the uncertainty and the volatility of the markets is definitely a concern. To be able to stomach the big moves in the grain markets and what to do and how to do it and being able to execute on a decision is super important ,"  said Michael Schon, the conference co-chair from the Spencer Chamber of Commerce.

Nearly 3,000 people are expected to attend the free event. The mild weather gets some of the credit for attendance.

Last year, it was much colder, and about 2500 folks made it to Spencer.
