SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
It's National FFA Week. A chance to raise awareness about what more than 540,000 members across the country do to promote agriculture.
The Future Farmers of America was founded in 1928. The organization and agriculture have both undergone major changes since then. But the goal still remains the same: create the leaders of tomorrow in the fields that feed the world.
For Melissa Kroksh, President of the Akron-Westfield FFA Chapter, her experiences in FFA have helped shaped her leadership skills.
Her father Randy Kroksh is the Advisor for the Akron-Westfield Chapter. He says chapter members take an active role in doing things for their community.
And, he says they do their part to teach the next generation, whether they live in a rural or urban setting, about the role agriculture plays in their everyday lives.
