LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -
A debate over Nebraska's school dropout age is set to resume in the Legislature.
Current state law allows any students to drop out if they receive written, notarized consent from a parent or guardian.
Lexington Senator John Wightman will continue pressing a bill that would increase the minimum dropout age to 18.
The bill has won support from the state Board of Education, but some lawmakers question the Legislature's recent moves to impose state restrictions on parents and families.
