Kristie's Purple Ribbon Chocolate Chip Cookies - prepared by Kristie VerMulm, KTIV Anchor
• 3 3/8 cups flour
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 cup shortening
• ½ cup margarine or butter, softened
• 1 ¼ cups sugar
• 1 ¼ cups brown sugar (packed)
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 2 eggs
• 1 12 oz package semi-sweet chocolate chips or chocolate chunks (chocolate lover's can add more!)
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Combine flour, baking soda and salt, set aside.
Cream together shortening, margarine, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla.
Beat in eggs.
Add flour mixture.
Stir in chocolate chips.
Drop onto cookie sheet and back for 10 to 12 minutes.
