An Austin, Texas woman has been sentenced to 60 days in jail for trying to release mink from a Sioux City farm. 22-year-old Kellie Marshall pleaded guilty to charges of releasing an animal from an animal facility and attempted third-degree burglary. She was also ordered to serve five years probation.
Last October, officers found Marshall and 24-year-old Victor Vanorden, also of Texas, in a soybean field near a fence that had been cut. Vanorden was sentenced to five years in prison. The two of them must also pay 88-hundred dollars in restitution for the fence damage.
