Detour maps can be driver's best friend during Interstate 29 work

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Drivers beware, there will be more closures along Interstate 29 as crews continue their work.

Tuesday and Wednesday night, I-29 near the Wesley Parkway Interchange will be closed at 9:00 for 20 minutes so crews can remove overhead sign trusses.

Also Tuesday, crews will begin work on I-29 between Hamilton and Riverside Boulevards.

So, north bound traffic will need to be shifted to the southbound lanes.

Further north on the Interstate , Wednesday crews will move the southbound lanes to the northbound lanes near the Singing Hills Boulevard interchange -- to start the next phase of work on that segment.

Finally, on Thursday, drivers will routed around the interstate  as workers continue their demolition of the top bridge over I-29.

Those detours will remain in place until the demolition is complete, which is expected to be next Monday.
