Norfolk, NE discussing fee schedule for Veterans Memorial Field
Now that the renovations to the sporting fields at Veterans Memorial Field in Norfolk, Nebraska are complete, the city is discussing a new fee schedule for those who would like to use it. The Norfolk City Council will meet tonight to discuss those adjustments. The renovations to the football and soccer field were done last fall and the baseball facility just opened up for games a couple of weeks ago. Tonight, the city council will vote on an ordinance that adjusts the usage fees for those fields. While dollar amounts haven't been brought to the table yet, there will be two different tiers of fees. One category will pertain to groups within the city's jurisdiction while another will relate to all other groups. The second category will have a higher fee than those in-town. The council will consider the ordinance at 5:30 tonight. Meanwhile, work on the AquaVenture Memorial Water Park continues. It is scheduled to open in June. Last week city offices in Norfolk, Nebraska moved locations. But, the city council will not be moving for awhile. Last week's move was just for city offices and staff members. There is currently a remodeling project underway to create a new council chambers at that location. There's been no indication when that will be done. In the meantime, the council will continue to meet in the current chambers.
