With corn planting getting underway in the Midwest and Upper Plains, some farmers are finding it a challenge to get enough seed.

Neal Foster is Executive Director of the South Dakota Crop Improvement Association.

He says biotech corn is particularly in short supply.

It's due to farmers nationwide planting one of the biggest corn crops in decades.

A spokesman for the Minnesota Department of Agriculture says corn seed is available, but it might not be the variety farmers want.
