ONAWA, Iowa (KTIV) -

More details are being released, after a northwest Iowa mother was charged in connection with the death of her 15-month-old child.

Police were called to 615 12th Street in Onawa, Iowa in February for a child that wasn't breathing after taking a bath. The child, 15-month-old Markis Dahms, later died.

However, officials say it was no accident. They allege the mother, Ashley Cameron, 25, of Onawa intentionally forced her child's head under the bath tub faucet, causing his death.

Cameron had an initial appearance in court this morning. She is currently being held in the Monona County Jail on $1 million bond.

A press conference is set for 1:00pm this afternoon on this case. We'll have a crew there, and bring you the latest on News Four.
