Buena Vista splits with Loras - KTIV News 4 Sioux City IA: News, Weather and Sports

The Buena Vista baseball team earned a split with Loras, falling 1-0 in game one, before rallying for a 6-5, 12 inning victory in game two.

Scoreless through six innings of game one, the Duhawks broke through in the top of seventh inning on pitcher Jon Ringblom's throwing error, scoring the only run of the game.

Down 3-1 in game two, Buena Vista scored two runs in the bottom sixth inning on Jesse Munsterman's 2 RBI double.

Tied at three after seven the two squads battled deep into extras.  Loras took a 4-3 lead in the top of the eighth inning, but BV answered with a run of its own.  After a double by Weston Foxx to leadoff the inning , Nick Schlecht tied the game at four with his RBI single.

Down 5-4 in the bottom of the 12th inning and down to their final out, the Beavers mounted a two out rally. 

After a double by Schlecht, Joe Paletta worked a two out walk. Munsterman stepped to the dish singled to left field, driving in Schlect.  Two batters later Neil Eddie drove in the game winning run, with a walk-off single to right.
