SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Fire has damaged a car, and the garage it was inside, Monday night.

Firefighters arrived at 404 Queens Court, in Sioux City, around 6 P.M. for a reported car fire.

Authorities say the homeowner drove her car home, and parked it in the garage.

Then 30 minutes later, investigators say the fire started in the car's engine compartment.

Once they got the flames knocked down, firefighters pushed the car out of the garage to minimize the damage.

Mark Aesoph, Fire Marshal said, "There are some engines that have, that can actually, the metal themselves in the engine can burn. This was, I don't believe one of the cases, I haven't taken a good enough look at it. It was just extinguished with a pre-connecting hand line."

The fire was contained to the car, with minor smoke damage to the garage.

No one was injured.
