Group prepares to celebrate Sioux City's past with preservation week

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Sioux City's Historic Preservation Commission is marking some of the unique things in the city's past, to highlight steps made at preserving it.

The group has several event scheduled as part of Historic Preservation Week.  Events run May 5th through the 12th.

Some of the events include the 4th Barstool Open on Saturday, May 5th beginning at MacBehr's.

Tours will be offered Sunday May 6th in Sioux City's historic Heights neighborhood.  There are also speakers and walking tours planned.
