The Morningside Mustangs clinched their fourth consecutive appearance in NAIA Softball National Championship with an 8-1 win over Midland in the GPAC softball final.
Pitcher Emma Remy led the way for the Mustangs, striking out seven over seven innings of work.
Courtney Vaughn plated Morningside's first run of the game with a sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning.
Still a 1-0 game heading into the bottom of the fourth inning, the Mustangs exploded for five runs in the frame, highlighted by Mackenzie Neely's three-run homer to put Morningside up 6-1.
Midland added a run in the top of the fifth, but the Mustangs answered with two more in the home half of the inning.

Lincoln, Neb. (KTIV) - In the GPAC baseball final Mount Marty's Jared Miller drove in the only run of the game as the Lancers defeated Northwestern 1-0 Saturday afternoon at Haymarket Park in Lincoln, Neb.
The Red Raiders pounded out seven hits in the championship game and were led by Cody Groskreutz, who finished 2-for-3 on the day.
Jared Kirkeby took the loss Northwestern, but threw a complete game.
