SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Returning for his 7th season with the Sioux City Explorers, Ty Marotz is a win away from becoming the X's all-time wins leader.

Posting a 6-5 record in 2011, the right-hander is currently tied a top the wins list with Chris Swiatkiewicz with 25 wins.

"To be that close to having a record like that means a lot to me," Marotz said. "When I first got here, I was never expecting to be in a position where I'd have an opportunity like this, and I'm just very fortunate and very blessed and looking forward to getting out there and breaking that record."

Marotz currently holds the Explorers records for most appearances with 128, and innings pitched with 479.2.
