Taste of Siouxland: 4 Brothers Bar and Grill

Le Mars is known as the Ice Cream capitol, but there are also other unique dishes found there. KTIV's Riley O'Connor takes us on his Taste of Siouxland.

Now you may associate Le Mars, Iowa as the ice cream capital of the world, but did you know that it's also famous for another dish? The pretzel burger and there is only one place to get it, 4 Brothers Bar and Grill.

"Definitely the pretzel burger," said customer, John Shideler.

"All the ingredients are fresh," added patron, Jeff Kelly.

"I come to 4 Brothers for the atmosphere and good food. It is awesome, it is the best in LeMars," Jeni Beitelspacher said.

"It is a classy joint to get away for a lunch," said Shideler.

One of the four owners, Clint Kass, has had the passion for the restaurant business ever since he was a young kid.

"We've been open for a little over five years. We opened in January of 2007. My family has always been in the food business and we were born and raised in LeMars and so my grandpa started Bob's Drive in back in 1949," Clint Kass said. "You know I wanted to do something on my own, so did my brothers, so as a family we came together and wanted to reinvest back in the LeMars and we came up with the idea of a unique idea and do a full service restaurant."

Full service restaurant indeed! Whether its a night on the town, catching a game or just a quiet classy dinner, 4 Brothers has it all. With so many entree dishes to choose from, folks won't leave here hungry!

"So tell me the pretzel burger, why is it so famous?" asked Riley O'Connor.

"Well that is the best part, people come in and they're used to getting a 1/3 lb. burger, here they are getting a 1/2 lb," Kass proudly stated.  

"This is a big piece of meat!" O'Connor exclaimed.

Next comes the bacon, or should as some say "meat candy". Dab some honey on those bad boys, a little black pepper, throw them in the oven until they are nice and crispy.

"This is money, you can really taste the honey in here too," O'Connor added

Next it was time to saute the onions with a little bourbon sauce, add a Worcestershire-chive aioli sauce, toast that gorgeous pretzel bun, with a little butter of course. Then once the cheese is nice and bubbly, layer all that goodness up.

"And now for the final product, oh yeah, you can taste the pretzel, the butter, the bourbon in the bacon and the cheese. It just makes it," said O'Connor

"That is our biggest seller," Kass said triumphantly.  

"I'll come back for this", O'Connor added.

So the next time your stomach starts to growl, think 4 Brothers Bar and Grill!
