Male suspect sought after attempted sexual assaults


Officials are searching for a suspect after three separate reports of man entering homes and attempting to sexually assault two juvenile girls this morning.

Around 3:00 a.m., Sioux City Police say they received a call at the 1100 block of West 4th Street that a man was performing a lewd act on the front porch of the home. A short time later, a second report was received that a man had entered a home on Wall Street and assaulted a juvenile female. The last incident occurred shortly thereafter in the Morningside neighborhood. The suspect attempted to assault a second juvenile female, however, she screamed and the suspect fled.

Authorities say the suspect is described as a very tall and thin black male. He's believed be taller than 6'4", was dressed in all dark clothing and his face was partially covered. The Sioux City Police Investigative Services Bureau ha engaged its entire unit in an attempt to develop a suspect. Anyone with more information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 258-TIPS.

A press conference has been scheduled for 4:00 p.m. this afternoon to brief the media on their investigation. KTIV News 4 will live stream that conference on our website once it begins.
