Police charge Onawa, IA man with abusing 6-year-old child

An Onawa, Iowa, man faces charges after police say he sexually-abused a six-year-old.

Investigators say 40-year-old Charles Cardwell is charged with 2nd-degree Sexual Abuse following the incident, police say, happened in an Onawa home.

Police say Cardwell performed a sex act, and committed sexual abuse, on the child in the last two weeks.

Cardwell is in the Monona County Jail on $25,000 bond.
