SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb. (KTIV) -
The first phase of a dog park to honor a fallen sailor from South Sioux City will open this weekend. A dedication ceremony will be held Sunday for John Doungdara Memorial War Dog Park. The five-acre site is part of the Siouxland Freedom Park on the Missouri River waterfront. Petty Officer 1st Class Doungdara was a Navy Special Warfare member who handled a dog for the Navy SEALS.
