VERMILLION, S.D. (KTIV) -
U.S. Senator Tim Johnson stopped in Vermillion, his hometown. He's got two years left on his term in Washington and is undecided about his future.
"It's too early to tell. I'm up in 2014 and it's 2012 yet. And I'll wait and see," said Johnson.
Johnson, who suffered a brain hemorrhage in 2006, toured the USD Beacom School of Business.
He was impressed after seeing all three floors of the building at his alma mater. In this economy, Johnson knows it's tough even for business grads to get jobs.
But he believes the state schools and the state itself have created opportunities for them to succeed.
"We need South Dakotans to stay right here, and stay home. And with that, we'll do better and better," said Johnson.
Johnson says South Dakota is in better shape than many other states with its low unemployment and job creation programs.
