SIOUX CITY (KTIV) -- -

Sioux City North grad Damek Tomscha is having a great year for the top-ranked junior college baseball team in the country, Iowa Western in Council Bluffs. Tomscha has led the Reivers to the title game at the Junior College World Series in Colorado.

Iowa Western is 61-6 overall and is at the national tournament for the sixth straight year. They are 4-1 at the World Series and will play in the finals on Saturday night at 7 o'clock.

Tomscha went 3-for-3 at the plate and scored four runs in a 10-0 win over Gordon College of Georgia on Thursday.

Tomscha leads the team with 15 homers, 64 RBI's in 61 games, 72 runs and 23 doubles. The sophomore is also .438.

He was drafted out of high school by the Phillies in the 50th round and then selected again last summer by the Marlins in the 36th round.

Tomscha has committed to play at Auburn next season but will likely be picked again when the major league draft starts on Monday.
