Iowa doctor's new medicine management app now out

Posted:
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -

A new wireless telephone application designed by a Des Moines doctor and local pharmacists helps people who take multiple medications keep track of their drugs and save money on purchases.
The MedSimple app is available for iPhones and Android devices. It was designed by Des Moines endocrinologist Dr. Anuj Bhargava with the assistance of a group of pharmacists.
The app helps users remember when to take medications and when to get a refill. It also provides patients with free access to coupon programs, and a generic savings program list.
It also has a drug search engine, provides dosing and refill alerts and other features including a prescription assistance program.
It is offered through My Diabetes Home, a website set up by Bhargava, or through the devices' app stores.
