
It's primary election day in Iowa and South Dakota and voters are going to the polls. Both states feature congressional, state and local races.
In Iowa, there are lots of primary races for the state legislature, after the districts were redrawn, putting 41 lawmakers in new districts with other incumbents.
Also on the ballot are Republican and Democratic races for Woodbury County's next sheriff, with Glenn Parrett retiring from that post. In South Dakota, voters are choosing a Democratic nominee for the U.S. House to go up against Republican incumbent Kristi Noem in November.
They're also deciding 30 primary contests for the South Dakota Legislature. Polls close at seven tonight in South Dakota.
