A night after ending Wichita's 11-game winning streak, the Sioux City Explorers lost to the Wingnuts, 8-2, in game two of the four game series on Tuesday.
Wichita (14-4) scored three runs in the first inning on a bases loaded double by Mitch Einertson. X's starting pitcher Alain Quijano was taken out of the game in the fifth inning after giving up eight hits and six runs.
X's pitchers Geno Glynn and Eddie Delacruz each pitched an inning of scoreless relief.
Kris Sanchez led the Sioux City (7-11) attack with two hits and two RBI's. Sanchez drove home Yusuke Inoguchi and Wally Backman, Junior, with a double in the sixth inning.
The X's were out hit 10-6 and neither team made an error.
