A shortage of pilots is causing a major airliner to cut flights this summer.
American Airlines says they'll reduce flights in July by one percent.
A union spokesperson says pilots may be taking care of their elective procedures before the airliner raises its premiums and co-pays.
They also plan to eliminate 1400 management and support jobs by late summer.
At this point, officials in Sioux City, say the cuts in flights and jobs won't impact Sioux Gateway Airport.
