YANKTON, S.D. (KTIV) -
A judge sentenced a Yankton, South Dakota man to 200 years in prison for the murder of his girlfriend, last year.
The sentence follows Nicholas Hines' guilty plea, in March, to a charge of manslaughter.
Hines shot 25-year-old Brianna Knoll, and then shooting himself, in April of 2011.
Hines claims the gun discharged accidentally.
While the judge sentenced Hines to 200 years, the judge suspended 100 years of his sentence.
