NEAR SALIX, Iowa (KTIV) -
Only minor damages were reported after an early morning fire Tuesday at the Ag Processing Inc. plant near Salix, Iowa.
A worker reported a fire in the facility's bagging house and the Salix fire department was called to the scene. The fire caused minimal damage and no one was injured.
A company official credited the quick response by the employee for preventing more damage.
"It's always good when they see something start, right away that they respond quickly- it minimizes the damage which was the case in this fire," said Mike Maranell, Senior Vice President at AGP.
AGP officials are still trying to determine the cause. Maranell expected the plant to be back to normal operations some time today.
