Inoguchi powers Explorers past Pheasants

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KTIV) -

Yusuke Inoguchi went 3-for-4, scored a run and drove in two more as the Sioux City Explorers defeated the Sioux Falls Pheasants 5-2 Wednesday night.

Teammate Michael Lang was 2-for-3 against Sioux Falls, with an RBI triple, collecting his 17th RBI.

Brandon Newton was 1-for-5, but extended his hitting streak to nine games with an RBI triple in the seventh inning.

Richard Salazar picked his third win of the season, giving up just two runs over eight innings of work. Chris Bodishbaugh pitched a scoreless ninth earning his fifth save of the year.

Sioux City begins a four-game series Thursday against Winnipeg at Lewis and Clark Park.  First pitch is set for 7:05.
